Santa Paws arrived at our veterinary hospital at 2pm on a snowy afternoon to hear the wishes of many of our four-legged friends. Even with the uncooperative weather, we had a great turn out!

KAH transfroms into HAUNTED HOSPITAL to benefit Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund

On Oct. 26th 2013 Kingsbrook Animal Hospital held it's first ever Haunted Hospital!  Dr. Hybrid and his minions (aka the Kingsbrook Animal Hospital team) put on an insanely fun production all in order to raise money for the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund!  That's right, our entire hospital was transformed into a mad scientist's laboratory!

There were several vendors who attended including: Smart Dogs University, Blue Ridge Blood Bank, Country Rabbit, Fine Photography, Frederick County Animal Control, Frederick County Animal Welfare League, Petz-R-US, Gratzer Graphics, Sweet & Savory, Two Paws Up and the Scoop Squad.
Our intern Katie and Nora

The collective monies raised from the vendors, our wonderful clients, and brave attendees will help KAH to continue our efforts to help animals in need!  Thanks to YOU!

1,200 Facebook likes for Kingsbrook Animal Hospital = $307 donated to the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund!

The Kingsbrook Animal Hospital 1,200 Like Facebook Campaign was a huge success!!
Our goal was to reach 1,200 'Likes' on the Kingsbrook Animal Hospital Facebook by August 1st! If successful, the doctors agreed to 2 things...

#1- They would donate $250 to the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund

#2- Each doctor would take a pie to the face!!

and....

We succeeded!!!

We even reached our goal early- before August 1st! So, our doctors took it a step further..They agreed to donate an additional $1 for every extra 'Like' over 1,200.

The grand total was 1,257 'Likes'!  That means $307 donated to the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund! Woot Woot!

oh, and about the 'pieing'.... here is a sneak peak!

Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund helps FCAC kitty- Coconut!

Thanks again to everyone for your support at the Paws and Claws 5K. Because of our generous clients, we are able to continue to help many animals in need. So far, with the help of your donations, we have purchased over $1,000 worth of food for local animal shelters! We have also ordered indestructible Kongs for the many dogs that live at the local Frederick Maryland shelters that are waiting for their forever home.
In addition to the food and toys that were donated, we have also decided to sponsor a homeless kitty in need of medical care. We would like you to meet Coconut.
Sweet little Coconut!

Dr. Davis listening to Coconut's heart.
Coconut is a 6 year old female spayed kitty that is currently available for adoption and living at Frederick County Animal Control (FCAC). While Coconut is a very sweet and affectionate girl, she has not yet been adopted, possibly due to some medical concerns. That is where Kingsbrook Animal Hospital and the donations made to the Kylie and Cricket Fund helped!

Because of your donations, KAH was able to address those concerns so that she has a better chance at finding her new home. When we first met Coconut, she had severe dental disease and a heart murmur. Through the Kylie and Cricket Fund, KAH was able to perform blood work and radiographs on Coconut.

Reviewing her radiographs.

Waking up from anesthesia.

After assessing her anesthetic risk, she then received a dental exam and cleaning. While reviewing full mouth dental x-rays, Dr. Davis confirmed that her teeth cleaned up nicely and no extractions were necessary!

Coconut is now all set to move into her forever home!
She is a sweet, beautiful girl who enjoys friendly people, playing with her toy mouse, and taking long naps on the couch.
Please contact Frederick County Animal Control for more information regarding her adoption.
Thanks again to all those who donated to the Kylie and Cricket Fund which allowed us to help Coconut and other animals in need.

The Kylie and Cricket Fund donate to Frederick County Animal Control

Thanks to all of the generous donations from the Paws and Claws 5k, we were able to donate well over $1,000 worth of food to Frederick County Animal Control!

Tiffanie and Julie on a 'mountain' of food!

It was so much food, it overflowed Dr. Davis' car!

And the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund didn't just stop at food....

We also purchased Kongs!.... Lots and lots of Kongs!!

Because animals spend many hours housed inside with not much to do, Kongs provide them with enrichment.  We made sure to purchase the 'indestructible' black Kongs as we know some dogs are very determined chewers!

Dr. Davis helped to deliver our donations to FCAC.

The staff at Animal Control were thrilled with these donations!

Kingsbrook Animal Hospital raises money by running the Paws and Claws 5k!

The entire staff at Kingsbrook Animal Hospital came together and ran/walked AWL's first Paws and Claws 5k on June 29th! In doing so, we raised $1457.85 for the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund!!

Some of us walked, some of us ran.. but all had an awesome time for a great cause- animals in need!

Many of our clients donated money while visiting KAH during regularly scheduled appointments. Others donated the day of the event. We also offered a chance at a raffle basket and gift card to any one interested.

We all had such a good time as you can see!

Look forward for how more upcoming events!

Also, we plan to help as many animals as possible with that $1457.85!! Keep checking back to see your donations at work in the Frederick, MD area!  Thanks again to all who donated!
